connectivity eliminates the vast distances and enables
effective communication to and from anywhere in the
world. For a country like Pakistan such a connectivity
is ideal as it eliminated the dependency on state run
Telecommunication Networks and reduces the point of
failures to a bare minimum. |

In
the beginning of 1995 a group of US based Pakistani
Engineers felt the need to bring the benefits of the
latest in Information Technology to Pakistan. The group
had a cumulative working experience of 75 years in top
organizations in the USA like Lucent Technologies, AT
& T Bell Labs and Harris Corporation. The same spirit
lead to the formation of ISA Inc. Information
System Associates Ltd. ( ISA ) was incorporated
as a public limited company on February 11, 1996. The
main object of ISA is to establish, maintain
and operate Data Communication Networks.
The Company is registered by this name with the Securities
& Exchange Commission of Pakistan in compliance
with the Companies Ordinance 1984.
All corporate and financial issues and legal contracts
are executed under this name. |

On
the same date ISA established a Data Network Operator
by the name of Comstar. The main sponsors of the firm
are Comsat RSI/ParaGea/TSI Communications, Shahnawaz
Group, Ali Gohar Group, Information Systems Associates
Ltd. and NBP (originally NDFC). In the period of eight
years from its inception, Comstar is now branded a major
player in Data Communication in Pakistan and provides
the widest range of services to suit its customers’
needs. Comstar offers Satellite and Radio Connectivity
throughout Pakistan through its offices located in Karachi,
Lahore, Islamabad and Multan.
COMSTAR ™ is the trade name used in the market
and a brand name that identifies and distinguishes the
Company from the rest. The name Comstar is derived from
Comsat™ Corporation of USA. We acquired their
approval to use it under our licensing agreement for
a joint venture with Comsat™ Corporation, USA. |
